"Progress, like most concepts in the human zeitgeist, is usually a contrivance designed to either dominate, subjugate, or obfuscate reality. As long as one tribe wants progress and power, it forces the other tribes to need to progress to protect themselves. There is no actual possibility that all tribes will give up progress and stop wanting to protect themselves. It is impossible that we can give up money as a basis for economic transactions; barter is not efficient. It is impossible to give up science and technology and progress. No tribe will voluntarily become defenceless".
